The Real Estate Organization for San Antonio Real Estate Professionals

Our Mission

The Real Estate Council of San Antonio is the advocate for owners and professionals in the real estate industry, influencing action and supporting efforts to ensure a healthy economy and enhanced quality of life in the San Antonio area.

Established in 1991, the Council was formed to provide its members with vision, leadership and initiative in the ever-changing real estate market and economic climate.  The Council currently has 260 member firms with approximately 850 individuals participating as members.

There are three levels of membership:  Patron, Corporate and Individual.  As a locally-based organization, all membership dues go toward issues, initiatives and programs that impact the real estate development industry in San Antonio.  At each level, one can benefit from a wide range of services and opportunities for participation:

*            Membership Meetings

            Regular programs (often members only) which focus on industry-related topics as well as those impacting the San Antonio area and its economy.

*            Council Monitor

            Bi-monthly newsletter reporting on important issues affecting the industry, announcing upcoming events and reviewing Council activities.

*            Council Alert

            Periodic requests for specific action by Council members on critical issues.

*            Committee Participation

            Volunteers are the lifeblood of the organization.  Members are given the opportunity to participate in the standing committees:  Program, Membership, Community Relations, Government Affairs, Communications, Education and Leadership Development.

*            Leadership Development Program

            This program is designed for up to 25 high-potential, real estate industry applicants.  The goal of the program is two-fold: (1) to provide a concentrated exposure to San Antonio real estate, politics and the people and events that shape or affect the industry; and (2) developing the leadership skills and potential of individuals whom we expect to include our industry’s and the community’s future leaders.  As with other leadership programs, there also is the side benefit of an extended networking forum for the participants.

*          MCE Credit Opportunities

            The Real Estate Council is a licensed provider of MCE courses.  The Education Committee strives to have 15 hours of meetings every two years in order to satisfy current requirements.  The Committee also works to have programs certified for CLE credit.
